Our entire being is made to want to work less and be as efficient as possible. For every individual makes up a society, and if you are what you eat, then our society is its individuals. Individually or socially, it is our natural state to want to survive. When anything in our body is being attacked with abnormal cells, our unanimous body goes into full fight mode. Our body wants us to rest everything else [digestion, visual, auditory, and smell senses]. It takes the unconscious (and uninvited) sacrifice of feeling drained and miserable with a day or two off work to get our bodies in working order. When it’s all over we promise never to drink again (or at least not $100 tab worth), or to never eat at those grade B/C restaurants. Other sicknesses are only partially unavoidable, but we never seek out sickness (unless there is something bigger one needs/wants to be avoiding in work/school/reality).
Is it any wonder why we prefer the easy way out and have huge health concerns? We’re fed easy meals, mind-numbing jobs, and better-than-nothing relationships. Makes sense to me. But what about these abnormal ‘cells’ attacking us now? It seems that the people close to these abnormalities are aware and wanting to fight, but two degrees of separation is too far from home to be of any concern for the rest of us. With the lack of debilitating symptoms, our body prefers to “send aid” but stay neutral for as long as possible. The rest of our one unit system wants to continue living its normal day to day and not join the battle. No. It is only when our bodies’ equivalent of Pearl Harbor is attacked; then our brain sends unanimous signals declaring war which finally equates to the typical fever, lack of appetite, sensitive to any ‘off’ smells, etc. Nobody likes this war. Nobody likes innocent casualties –civilians or cells.
We naturally don’t want to fight; it requires a lot of energy. And I am all for not fighting. So what is the solution in maintaining peace and efficiency? Seeing crazy abnormal cells and cutting off their life supplies at the get-go. Preventing these abnormalities from gaining power. Preventing our normal cells from being kidnapped and eaten or latched onto and turned into zombie robots working for these crazy killer abnormal cells. Prevent. Prevent. Prevent. Eat nourishing foods. Enlighten your sense of self before attaching your heart to the first person who shows some sort of skewed interest in you. Drink a lot of water. Define your boundaries before you realize they’ve been drastically crossed. Lose the pessimism and constant negativity. Learn about someone before you blindly elect. Resist what you know to already be bad for your body [binge drinking, fatty greasy foods, simple sugars, two hours sleep, this could go on forever]. Reflect on your day-to-day activities to make yourself more aware of your actions and/or lack thereof.
This is basic health. We can’t change the world until we change ourselves.
